It’s safe to say that I’ve been a little MIA for the past three weeks! To be completely honest, I wasn’t feeling creative or inspired and I felt like such a failure as a blogger. Every time I sat down to write something I felt like I had nothing to offer you as my readers. Especially with all of the daunting gift guides after Black Friday and Cyber Week, I just threw my hands up and said “I need a serious moment!” I didn’t start my blog to push products or to create boring posts that had zero personality. I’m here to share with you my love of life and to hopefully sprinkle a little love on yours as well. I also came to realize that even if my life seems so boring and lacking luster, that you all are still here to know about my week that was spent 90% of the time in my pajamas and make up free! #imsorry I’m feeling so refreshed and having a little time off inspired me to think about my goals for the new year, which includes being my most genuine self even if I’m feeling kind of sucky! So, I’m back! 🙂
Now, let’s talk beauty!
A few of my favorite things about the holiday’s are parties, red lips, and cocktails. These three things, particularly all together, give me all the feels! I love to play up my make up with sparkles and bright hues, and this look happens to be my go-to when in a hurry to get ready for evening soiree’s because it has minimal steps! Raise your hand if your husband or boyfriend rushes you to get ready…my hand is up! To create this look I used Anastasia Beverly Hills shadows in Burnt Orange {all over lid} and Wine {in the middle of lid}! That’s right, only two colors! I’m so pale I’m practically see-through and the orange shadows warm up my face so I don’t look like Nightmare Before Christmas! And it’s not competing with my orange red lip! This liquid lipstick is super sassy for the holla-days, the color is Spice and it’s linked below “SHOP THE POST”! I’m usually not a fan of liquid lipsticks because they tend to be really drying and call me crazy, but it makes me have a lisp! I know, I’m weird. But not this one! Woohoo!
You all should know by now that pleated skirts are my weakness and I secretly wish that I could wear this one everyday of the week! The midi length can accentuate any body type, from short to tall. Mini skirts always tend to make me look like a troll (i.e. stumpy and wide) and who wants that?! Maxi’s are generally too long and it’s such a task to go get it altered. Midi’s are hassle free, they make me look taller, and the classiest length! This skirt is from Morning Lavender and I’m wearing an XS, fits perfectly.
