I’M SO EXCITED FOR TODAY! Hailey and I are hosting a #KendraGivesBack Event this evening in The Woodlands and we are donating 10% of the proceeds to Star of Hope, our favorite mission organization for the homeless! We will be there from 6:00-8:00 so come say hi and shop! 🙂
I’ve always loved pleated skirts but was always so hesitant on purchasing them because I wasn’t sure how to wash them or care for them. I was like “ummm what happens if it gets wet and loses its pleats?!” It’s SO sad, but Nana has done my laundry up until a couple of months ago and I was pretty clueless on how to take care of my clothes. I knew how to separate them but that’s about it! And when it came to pleated skirts…I’m leaving it to the professionals! If you get a skirt or top or whatever it might be that has pleats wet, it’s doomed for. I’ve learned the hard way that the only way to save pleats is to take it to your neighborhood dry cleaners. When dropping off your pleated item make sure you ask them a few precautionary questions. If you have any stains on the item it will need to be spot-treated and the chemicals they use to lift the stain will relax the pleats. If that’s the case, ask them if they have a machine to re-pleat and you won’t be disappointed.
Now knowing this handy information from my Nana, I’ve been a pleated skirt buying machine! When all else fails, take your beloved pleated clothing to the dry cleaners!
ONE MORE THING! Sunkissed and Made Up has a tutorial on how to do this simple up-do and we make it really easy to do it on yourself. Check it out here! And yes, that is the #pinkdrink from Starbucks! It’s the Strawberry Acai Refresher with coconut milk!
